Dr Aaron Poh is a fully accredited General Surgeon with the Specialist Accreditation Board and Ministry of Health Singapore, experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of gallstones, gallbladder conditions, and bile duct disorders.
Known for his calm and compassionate approach, he takes time to explain each condition clearly and guide patients through their options with care and reassurance.
Not all gallstones require surgery. Dr Poh provides careful assessment and evidence-based treatment — from monitoring and symptom management to minimally invasive (keyhole) gallbladder surgery when required.
Dr Aaron Poh is a fully accredited General Surgeon with the Specialist Accreditation Board and Ministry of Health Singapore, with experience in managing gallbladder conditions, gallstones, and bile duct disorders. He is currently the Medical Director of Alpine Surgical Practice.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore in 2004, and went on to complete his General Surgical training under the Ministry of Health. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS) in 2015.
Dr Poh has undergone further subspecialty training in colorectal surgery, including a fellowship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, United Kingdom. His broader surgical experience supports the management of complex abdominal conditions, including those involving the gallbladder and digestive system.
Known for his calm and patient approach, Dr Poh takes time to listen and explain each condition clearly, helping patients understand their diagnosis and treatment options with confidence.
In his clinical practice, he believes that every patient is unique — shaped by their medical condition, lifestyle, and personal concerns — and that treatment should be tailored accordingly. He is committed to providing evidence-based care, balancing proven treatments with thoughtful consideration of newer approaches, with a focus on safety and long-term outcomes.
Outside of work and attending to patients, Dr Aaron Poh spends most of his time with his family and parents. He also tries to find time to indulge in his passion for mountain biking and photography.
